Love A Mutt Pet Rescue depends entirely on foster families to provide temporary housing for every rescued dog until their permanent adoptive family can be located. Because of this, we are always in need of loving foster families. The more foster families we have available, the more animals that can be saved. We can't save an animal if it has no place to go.
Becoming a foster parent for a homeless animal is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. Because of you, an animal that may have never been loved or had a home will get to know what love and home feel like. We are able to recognize each and every dog's needs based on feedback from the fosters and as a result are better able match dogs with adoptive families.
When animals are rescued they are often traumatized. Some of them may have physical or mental scars that will take time to heal. It is due to the dedication of all of the foster families that all of our rescues are rehabilitated and are able to be loving, adoptable pets. Our success directly relates to the quality of our foster homes and the experiences our rescue dogs are exposed to during the transition from rescue to forever home.
Although we are always in desperate need for great foster families, unfortunately we cannot approve everyone as a foster. Prior to being accepted as a foster family LAMPR will do some background investigation to ensure the foster environment will work out well for both our animals and the foster families. It is also important that the family understands the requirements, both time wise and emotionally, that go along with being a foster so we want to take time to get to know you.
